Freedom’s Cry

As we celebrate America’s birthday this week, I think about all the many reasons we have to rejoice over the FREEDOM we have as citizens of the United States of America. What tremendous battles have occurred and what sacrifices have been made for our freedom. What about in your personal life? Is it your turn to share the TRUTH about FREEDOM…or maybe it’s YOU that needs to EXPERIENCE the FREEDOM???
Galatians 5:1 says: "It is for FREEDOM Christ has set you FREE. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Christ has already WON the VICTORY to offer us FREEDOM, but we must battle the enemy if we are to claim that FREEDOM. From three epic movies, look at the powerful charges given in preparation for battle:
As the troops across the United States are preparing for the momentous battle in "Independence Day", the commanders passionately declare: "...We're moving into the valley of the shadow of death where you will watch the back of the man next to you as he will watch your's. We will be UNITED in our COMMON INTEREST & you will once again be fighting for FREEDOM! Let us understand the situation - we are going into battle against a tough & determined enemy and when we go into battle...I will leave NO one behind! We will NOT vanish...we WILL SURVIVE. Today we CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE day!"
William Wallace, in "Braveheart", was rallying the Scottish army to fight for freedom and as he rode on horseback in front of the armed troops, whose knees were knocking & hearts were wavering, he asked them: "...Would you be willing to trade all the days for 1 chance, just 1 chance, to come back & tell our enemy that you may take our lives but will NEVER take our FREEDOM!"
Rallying the troops before the battle in the movie "Gladiator", Maximus' voice resounds through the forest: "Hold the line...stay with me...if you find yourself alone, do not be troubled. What we do in life ECHOES in ETERNITY!!"
This is a battle, girls...never forget that...BUT is one that is WON on our knees, through our obedience and by the POWER of the One who shed His blood for all!! (Ephesians 6:10-18) Rehearse the TRUTH for yourself - don't let Satan bind your hearts & hands. Reach out to others fighting the SAME battle across this land & even oceans. Cling to the Lord and tune your ears to the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit. Remember that He will renew your strength so that you may "soar on wings like eagles...run and now grow weary...walk and not be faint." (Isaiah 40:31) Our Savior has EQUIPPED you with armor - PUT IT ON - and grab the "sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God." He will NEVER leave you...and will guide you and teach you, and remind you of everything that He has said to you. Our commander is the Lion of Judah and the King of Kings...and He WINS the BATTLE!!
STAND on the TRUTH & FIGHT for FREEDOM...the hearts of the women all around you are longing for FREEDOM! Or maybe it’s YOUR own heart that’s crying out for FREEDOM? Are YOU willing to enter the battle??

Amazing Carrie! 'He WINS the BATTLE!' I think I need to print this out and read it every time before I venture out into the world. Currently in week 5 of the STS book, 6 months ago I would have never thought my heart would enjoy freedom again. Only through Christ, He has changed my heart. Thank you Lord, i'm learning to stand on the truth and fight because of these sisters at STS. Thanks to all of you and everything you've done!
